Andy Teirstein - Composer, Producer. Email: at30 -at- nyu.edu.
Andy Teirstein (Producer/Composer) writes music inspired by the rich and diverse folk roots of modern culture. His compositions have been described by The New York Times and The Village Voice as "magical," "ingenious," and "superbly crafted." A student of Leonard Bernstein and Henry Brant, Teirstein composes for the concert hall, film, theater, and dance. His newest CD, Open Crossings, draws on Balkan, Appalachian, and classical influences. He has composed film scores for BBC and PBS. Two of his musicals, Winter Man and Skels receieved NEA Opera/Musical Theatre Awards. Andy received an MFA at NYU, where he studied with Stephen Sondheim & Arthur Laurents, and went on to achieve a Ph.D. in music composition. He extended his musical education in the pubs of Ireland and performing as a musical clown with a Mexican circus. He is currently an Associate Arts Professor at NYU.

Jenni Bowman (Producer/ Stage Manager) is the Associate Producer for Philip Glass’ Days and Nights Festival in Big Sur, CA. Recent and current projects include; The Mermaid Parade on Coney Island, Lanford Wilson’s Balm in Gilead with writer Beau Willimon, Judd Greensteins’s The Yehudim, Robert Whitman’s performance art piece PASSPORT at the Dia Art Foundation, touring with Aszure Barton & Artist and Einstein on the Beach, directed by Robert Wilson.

Ghan Patel (Publicist) is a freelance web developer, designer, and digital marketer based in Brooklyn, NY. A former Googler, Ghan devotes his energy and expertise to promote the Arts and forge new collaborations with artists in all genres. He’s worked with composer Philip Glass, director Vivek Sharma, curator Magnus Toren, and designer Christian Eckels. He’s proud to include Andy Teirstein to this list.

Jim Calder (Director) is also the director of La Pietra Summer Theatre Festival in Florence, Italy and is the Artistic Director of Continuum Company, a collaborative Open Source creation company whose works have seen New York workshop presentations at Classic Stage Company, The Public Theater and New York Theater Workshop. Jim has directed works in New York City at The Pearl Theater, Classic Stage Company and the Lincoln Center Institute. Jim was Movement assistant for The Passion Play by Sara Ruhl in the NYC Première. He was a performer and creative consultant for the Haydn opera Philemon and Baucis at Museo del Barrio in NYC. Jim was the lead actor and creative consultant in PBS’s TV show, Noddy & Friends and is Head of Movement at Tisch Graduate Acting Program, NYU.
Charity Wicks (Music Director), a frequent music director and pianist of new works, was most recently traveling the country with the National Tour with Billy Elliot as a conductor and keyboard player. She was also the associate music director and conductor of Spring Awakening on Broadway, and also with the First National Tour. Charity was the associate conductor of the world premier of Stephen Schwartz's opera, Séance on a Wet Afternoon in Santa Barbara, CA in 2009. In addition to her work with opera and musical theatre, Charity recently earned her DMA from The Manhattan School of Music in instrumental accompanying.

Monika Deeran is a performing artist and aspiring art therapist currently residing in Brooklyn. She has over 5 years of experience working with theater organizations in New York City and Europe. She has worn many hats, from directing and producing, to development and programing. She has studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York. Monika is also passionate about helping children express themselves with theater. She formed a student theater organization in Poland and was part of experimental theater projects across Europe.

Nick Kolin (Lighting Consultant) is thrilled to be a part of the team on A Blessing on the Moon. Recent work includes Antigone and Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train (Hunter College), The Who’s Tommy and Cabaret (NYU) as well as dance designs for Dance Entropy, Yoo and Dancers, Neville Dance Theater, the Joffrey Jazz Dance School and many showings with the NYU Dance Department. Nick has also worked as lighting supervisor for NYC Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Mark Morris Dance Group and NY City Center’s Fall for Dance Festival. MFA, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
